Bead Seat Diameter (BSD)
The diameter of the tire bead interface on a rim, used to match tires and rims correctly.
BSD is the key measurement used to ensure a tire fits a rim.
- Common BSD sizes include 622mm (700c) and 584mm (650b).
- Two tires can share a “name” (like 29”) but the BSD is what matters for compatibility.
